I just met the girl of my dreams.

Megan Davenport is funny and smart, and she’s as much of an insomniac as I am. She’s also my team captain’s little sister, which I only found out after our passionate kiss.

Megan is completely off-limits—her brother makes that very clear—and I know better than to think I can keep a relationship going during hockey season anyway. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be late-night friends, right?

The only problem is, love makes you do crazy things, like breaking all the rules.

I was so excited to start reading this book. I’m a huge fan of Cindi Madsen and the Taking Shots series, so I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. Crazy Pucking Love is everything I thought it would be- witty, romantic, hot enough to melt the ice- and then some!

Megan Davenport is a girl on a mission. She just started college and is determined to find herself and take control of her life. Experience new things. No more doing everything someone else says, no more trying to change herself to fit what other people want. Alright, and she might just be on the lookout for a guy that can fit her boyfriend criteria. So when her roommate invites her along to a party, Megan decides to give it a go. There she meets Dane, (in one of my favorite scenes ever) and has a insta-crush on him.

Dane Kowalski doesn’t realize the hot girl he is flirting with is off-limits. Not until after he kisses Megan does he realize that she is the little sister of his teammate AND caption, Beck. It’s for the best anyway- he is in no position to have a girlfriend, and Megan seems like relationship type. Still, he can’t seem to stay away from her, especially after he discovers they both have trouble sleeping and are up most nights into the late hours.

Megan knows she can’t be with Dane. He’s made that more than clear. And even though she typically doesn’t like hockey players, she can’t stop her crush from growing- even after she agrees to be just friends. As their friendship goes on, they get closer and closer, and the sexual tension gets stronger and stronger. And even though the cons out weigh the pros, they both start to wonder ‘what if?’.

I just love Megan. I love that she is quirky and fun, beautiful and a bit of a math dork. Cindi Madsen writes the best female characters, always smart and beautiful, with a dash of quirkiness. Megan has been through a lot so does seem more mature at times, then other time she shows her age, which I appreciate. She felt like a real college freshmen to me. I loved her relationship with Beck, as well as with Lyla.

Dane was a bit more complex. He was a nice guy with a good heart, even though he doesn’t realize it. He is kinda hot and cold with Megan, with is frustrating at times, but it also made you really feel what Megan is feeling. He isn’t doing it to just be an ass, he has real reasons for his battle between his brain and heart.

Their friendship is everything. So adorable. However, the attraction between them is obvious, so even if they start off as friends, it’s clear they both want more. The chemistry between them is sizzling hot, I loved reading their journey.

It was also nice to see some familiar faces of the past couples, Beck & Lyla and Hudson and Whitney.

If you love sports romance- or even just cute college romance- this is a book you don’t want to miss! I mentioned it is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone.
