Teaser Tuesday- Bossman

Bossman teaser June 14th

Author: Vi Keeland

Release Date: July 18th, 2016

The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn’t exactly make a good impression.

I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.

He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.

So I told him to mind his own damn business—his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business—and went back to my miserable date.

When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.

I couldn’t help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.

When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.

But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us—telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.

My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.

When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I’d never see him again.

I mean, what were the chances I’d run into him again in a city with eight million people?
Then again…

What were the chances a month later he’d wind up being my new sexy boss?

I ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ this book! Perfection.

The girl who’s had everyone meets the boy who has no one.

For Bella, the sweet-talking, free-loving, hip-checking student manager of the Harkness men’s hockey team, sex is a second language. She’s used to being fluent where others stutter, and the things people say behind her back don’t (often) bother her. So she can’t understand why her smoking hot downstairs neighbor has so much trouble staying friends after their spontaneous night together. She knows better than to worry about it, but there’s something in those espresso eyes that makes her second guess herself.

Rafe is appalled with himself for losing his virginity in a drunken hookup. His strict Catholic upbringing always emphasized loving thy neighbor—but not with a bottle of wine and a box of condoms. The result is an Ivy League bout of awkwardness. But when Bella is leveled by a little bad luck and a downright sinister fraternity stunt, it’s Rafe who is there to pick up the pieces.

Bella doesn’t want Rafe’s help, and she’s through with men. Too bad the undeniable spark that crackles between the two of them just can’t be extinguished.

We clink our glasses together then down the shots. The groomsman passes me a lime wedge, but I shake my head, causing him to pull me aside.

“My name’s Jared,” he says with a cocky smirk.

“I thought this was supposed to be a no-names night?” I reply, giving him shit, even though I have no interest in him.

“It is. But for you, I’ll make an exception. You need to know what name to say when I make you scream later.”

Cade comes up from behind Jared, clamping his big hand down on Jared’s skinny shoulder.

Jared glances back at Cade. They share some kind of a look that causes Jared to immediately ditch me. He saunters over to Tory and throws his arm around her, which earns him a hint of a smile from Cade.

“So does this mean you’re not married?” Tory asks Jared.

“Nope, I’m single as a Pringle,” he replies.

I expect Cade to say something to me, but instead he turns away.

I’m not sure what just happened, but I think it was some guy-code thing.

And it pisses me off.

Tory sees the rage on my face, takes my hand, and drags me off to the bathroom.

“What’s wrong?”

“Did you see that!?” I rant, as we step inside the ladies’ room, finding a long line. “Cade cock blocked me! Not that I wanted that guy’s cock, because you already called dibs on it, but Cade didn’t know that!”

“Since you don’t have a cock,” she replies. “I think it’s called blocking the box.”

“Oh, no,” the girl in front of us says. “It’s called twat blocking.”

“I thought it was boxed,” another woman says.

“Baseball players call cock blocking stealing signs.”

A voice from inside one of the stalls yells out, “It’s called clam jamming.”

Pretty soon everyone in the bathroom is giving us their opinions.

“Twat swatting or twat stopping.”

“Beaver dammed.”

I shake my head at Tory. “Whatever. It really shouldn’t matter what part you have. I got cock blocked because I will be having no cock tonight.”

“There’s still time,” Tory says. “You can have the groomsman. You need to get laid worse than I do, honey. It’s been far too long.”

“But why would he cock block me and then walk away?!”

As soon as the words tumble out of my mouth, Cade’s mother steps out of one of the stalls.

I put my head down, hoping she won’t notice me and, thankfully, she squeezes past us without saying a word.

“Holy buckets,” Tory says when the door closes behind her. “Wasn’t that his mother?”

“Uh, yeah. You can kill me now.”

Cade & Palmer’s story is FINALLY here!

Juked: verb.

A slang soccer term meaning: fake out, deceive, confuse your opponent

See examples Daniel Zavaro and Quincy Watson:

As the rising star in Houston, Daniel has found fame as Captain of his Pro soccer team
and the city’s most eligible bachelor. Daniel has everything – except someone special –
and that suits him just fine. He doesn’t want, or need, complications.

Quincy has baggage, and lots of it. After a tragic accident spins her world on its axis, she
finds herself as a single mother, raising a newborn nephew she never knew she had.
Between parenthood, her full-time job, and dealing with the suffocating grief of losing
her sister, every day is a struggle.

When they begin to cross paths unexpectedly and often, an unlikely friendship starts to
evolve. Feelings change. Lines get crossed. What happens next surprises them both…

Before they know it– they’ve been Juked.

  1. Having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be.

Perfect. That was the first word to come to mind when I finished Juked. This felt like more than a book to me- it was more of an emotional roller-coaster that made me smile, swoon, laugh, tear up, bite my nails and turn my stomach into a butterfly conservatory. Juked demanded my attention from the first page and had no problem keeping my interest to the last one.

They say your life can change in a second, and for Quincy Watson, nothing has been more true from the second she gets a phone call to head to the hospital. There she finds out her sister has passed away, but her nephew- the one she never knew she had- has survived. And if those bombshells weren’t enough, she finds out she has custody of him. Talk about a bad day.

Daniel Zavaro is living the good life. Star soccer player, team caption, great looks, plenty of charm, and of course, his pick of the cleat chasers. He doesn’t feel like anything is missing from his life, until a chance encounter with Quincy. Even though he can see she has enough on her plate at the moment, he can’t help but want her to make a little room on there for him.

I have to start off with Quincy, I just adored her. She was written flawlessly; from her thoughts, to her actions, to her internal battles with herself, to her interactions with the baby, and to her feelings with Daniel. I could literally feel her every emotion through the pages, M.E. Carter deserves major props for creating such a strong voiced character. You can’t help but connect to Quincy and root for her as she goes on her journey with her nephew. I loved that Quincy is both strong and vulnerable. Independent and in need of a shoulder to lean on.

Then there is Daniel. He is your typical superstar athlete- attractive, desirable and a bit of a player. Unlike other character in his position, Daniel is extremely likeable, right from the get go. He has this quality to him that I can’t quite pin point, but it kind of makes you fall in love with him. And by kind of, I mean definitely. Along with Daniel, you also get to meet the whole Zavaor clan. It was really fun to see them all interact with each other. There is a lot of personality there.

Now let’s talk  about Quincy and Daniel’s relationship. It takes them both by surprise, and is equal parts sweet and sexy. However, since there is a baby in the picture, it is also complicated. Not to mention Daniel IS in the spotlight. The way the characters are written, both so realistic, it’s hard not to feel the chemistry between them. And the sexual tension.

The story itself was just so touching to me. I wasn’t lying when I said I teared up, I did at several parts. It truly was just very moving and bittersweet, and M.E. Carter wrote it, well, just perfectly. Brilliantly.  Honestly, there are two love stories in this book- the one between Daniel Quincy and the love between her and the baby. They are equally as important to the plot as the other and the whole thing is just so heartwarming.

Wither you like sport romance novels or not, you WILL love this book. Trust me. You don’t want to miss out on being Juked.

“I hope you don’t mind,” she says, changing subjects and breaking the tension. “Before
you called, I was going to catch up on Outlander. I’m several episodes behind.”

“Fine with me,” I say. “I’m used to those soft-porn shows.”

“Soft-porn shows?”

“You know Outlander, Game of Thrones, True Blood. Soft porn.”

She scoffs at me. “We’re watching Starz, Daniel, not pay-per-view.”

I lean back and put my feet up on the coffee table. “Baby, the only difference between
Starz and porn is that actual porn doesn’t have a plot or as big a budget.”

She rolls her eyes. “Whatever. Soft porn,” she grumbles under her breath. She picks up
the popcorn and puts it on the couch between us.

I snap up a handful and toss some in my mouth as the review of the last episode plays
and the credits roll.

Adult language. Adult situations. Brief nudity.

That’s what the parental ratings warn us of. It is so, so wrong.

The first thing that pops up on the screen is a woman on a bed and a man is with her.
With his head between her legs for a very long time. And now there’s nipples, lots and
lots of nipples. And his head is still between her legs.

“Still trying to convince yourself it’s not high-budget porn?” I joke, trying to break the
sexual tension that has sprung up again.

“Oh my god, this is so awkward,” she replies, eyes still on the screen. Her ears turn bright
red, which is apparently her version of a blush. She looks so uncomfortable.

I sip my beer and munch popcorn, ignoring the woody in my pants from imagining that
it’s Quincy and me on the screen. When all else fails, insert humor. “Man, he’s really
going at it, isn’t he?”

“Would you shut up?” She laughs and smacks my arm. “This is weird enough without
you making jokes.”

“Sorry. I’ll just sit here quietly while we watch the non-porn.” She rolls her eyes but
smiles anyway.

M.E. Carter

“Mother, reader, storyteller – ME Carter never set out to write books. But when a friend
practically forced a copy of Twilight into her hands, the love of the written word she had
lost as a child was rekindled. With a story always rolling around in her head, it should
come as no surprise that she finally started putting them on paper. She lives in Texas
with her four children, Mary, Elizabeth, Carter and Bug, who sadly was born long after
her pen name was created, and will probably need extensive therapy because of it.”

Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen

Author: Sarina Bowen

Release Date: June 14th, 2016

Genre: Romance

Rating: 5 Stars

Heat Rating: 4 Stars

All The Feels Rating: 5 Stars

ARC received in exchange for honest review.

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the orchard.

The last person Griffin Shipley expects to find stuck in a ditch on his Vermont country road is his ex-hookup. Five years ago they’d shared a couple of steamy nights together. But that was a lifetime ago.

At twenty-seven, Griff is now the accidental patriarch of his family farm. Even his enormous shoulders feel the strain of supporting his mother, three siblings and a dotty grandfather. He doesn’t have time for the sorority girl who’s shown up expecting to buy his harvest at half price.

Vermont was never in Audrey Kidder’s travel plans. Neither was Griff Shipley. But she needs a second chance with the restaurant conglomerate employing her. Okay—a fifth chance. And no self-righteous lumbersexual farmer will stand in her way.

They’re adversaries. They want entirely different things from life. Too bad their sexual chemistry is as hot as Audrey’s top secret enchilada sauce, and then some.

I love Sarina Bowen. With each book she writes, she has the uncanny ability to bring to life these amazing characters and places. Bittersweet is clever, fun, delivers the feels, and is a bit dirty-this is one trip to the farm you don’t want to miss.

Griffin Shipley (Griff) has a lot on his plate. Not only is he trying to run a farm- which he wasn’t planning on doing- he also has to take care of his family. Griff has a tough otter shell, complete with a scrawl, muscles, flannel shirts, and a sexy beard. And even though Griff knows you can expect the unexpected in life, he still isn’t prepared to come face to face with Audrey Kidder again.

Audrey Kidder has it rough. She is on the last straw with her job and is trying to prove to her mother she can make it on her own. So when she is given a difficult task, she is in no position to turn it down. Now she has to try to get farmers to sell produce and cider to her at a decent price. Well, decent to the eyes of her boss. And unfortunately for Audrey, she has to start with the grumpy, bearded farmer first.

I love the relationship between Audrey and Griff. They have an awkward past, and certainly do not get off on the right foot when Audrey shows up on his farm. Even though they get on each other nerves, there is this sexual tension between the two of them that they can’t fight off for long. Which means some STEAMY scenes- yes please! Audrey’s light, easy, energetic personality brings some of that out in Griff. I love that Griff encourages Audrey to stand up for herself and to have more of a backbone. I also love how they believe in each others dreams- Audrey with becoming a chef and Griff with his cider making.

In addition to their relationship together, I also love both of their relationships with Griff’s family. Partially his mother, who is the exact opposite of Audrey’s. Not to mention two of the guys that help work on the farm, Zach and Jude. There was SO much personality in this book, and no two characters sounded the same.

Now, since this book does revolve around a farmer and his farm, there is a lot of detail surrounding that. I can’t express how perfectly Sarina pulled this off. The information she gives paints vivid pictures in my mind, but doesn’t come off as boring or a Farming for Dummies book.

There are some twists and turns in this book, and oh my gosh, you will get flutters at times. You don’t want to miss this book!

Cover Reveal- Anti-Stepbrother

I’m so excited to help reveal the cover for Anti-Stepbrother by Tijan.

Release date is August 2016!

I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what would happen if I fell in love with the anti-stepbrother instead?

He told me to ‘settle, girl.’
He asked if ‘something was wrong with me?’
He said I was an ‘easy target.’
That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.
I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.

He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.

Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what would happen if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

I didn’t begin writing until after undergraduate college. There’d been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can’t blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I’m hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.
